ACCA Entry Requirements

Professional Examination Route

Minimum Entry requirements to register for the ACCA course, starting at the ACCA Knowledge level, 10+2 with 65% in any two papers (including English /Mathematics/Accountancy/commerce ) and 50% for others, or the equivalent. Those students in possession of higher qualifications may be eligible for exemptions from some of the ACCA examinations.

Foundation in Accountancy Route(FIA)

• Must be 18 or over

• Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Accounting and Business via Foundations in Accountancy can transfer to the ACCA Qualification and commence their studies from LW onwards

• Gain exemptions from ACCA papers BT-FA

ACCA Exemption

ACCA Exemptions for Degree Holders:

Holders of recognized business and accounting degrees will be considered for ACCA exemption from some or all of the papers in Knowledge & Skills levels, if they have previously studied and been assessed in comparable subject areas. Students with non-relevant degrees will not receive exemption from the examinations. We advise you to check your starting point with ACCA before you enroll on the course.

• Oxford Brookes Universities BSC (Hons) in Applied Accounting

  ACCA Exemptions for Degree Holders:

  The ACCA's innovative partnership with Oxford Brookes University enables students to obtain a BSc Honours Degree in Applied Accounting, while studying for their ACCA qualification.
  To gain the applied accounting degree, you must complete the first two parts of the Professional Scheme of examinations, and submit a Research and Analysis Project to the university for assessment.
  To be eligible, students must:

  • Have sat and passed, or been exempted from, all of the ACCA papers at level one, and papers LW and TX

  • Have sat and passed papers FM, FR and AA

  • Have registered with ACCA for the Oxford Brookes degree in Applied Accounting

  Important note:
  Students who have exemptions from papers FM, AA or AA, or any other papers, based on qualifications gained more than ten years ago, are not eligible to join the degree scheme.
  To obtain the Oxford Brookes degree in Applied Accounting students must:

  • Complete a Research and Analysis Project (5000 words)

  • Complete a key skills statement (1500 words)

  • Attend at least three meetings with a mentor

  • Present their project to the mentor and, if possible, a peer group of students

  The IAMBS Research and Analysis Project Mentoring Service

  A nominated mentor, employed by IAMBS, will provide you with the following support service:

  • Meetings at times and dates negotiated with yourself

  • Help in choosing your research topic

  • Advice on research sources and methods

  • Advice on preparing the key skills statement

  • Review of your draft project, and critical commentary

  • Coaching for the project presentation

  • There is no time limit to the mentorship service

  • You can have as many meetings as you need

  • The mentorship service will end only when you submit a successful project
